What is Price-to-earnings ratio (P/E ratio)?

A P/E ratio is a metric that shows the relationship between a company's stock price and it's earnings per share. P/E = company current stock price divided by it's earnings per share.
P/E indicates how much investors willing to pay for every dollar of earnings. Hence, a high ratio means either investors are willing to pay more for every dollar of earnings or that the company is overvalued.
Nanovest shows the company's P/E ratio on the Stock screen in the app.
